Apps like Runna are great for structure but they’re still an algorithm. They don’t know your stress levels, your sleep, your cycle, your hunger cues, your injury history, your schedule, or what’s actually sustainable for you. And they definitely don’t bring your nutrition and strength together in a way that supports performance and body composition long-term.
My coaching is a real partnership. You get a coach who can zoom out, connect the dots, and adjust based on your real life.
hi, i’m Kirsten
UNESCA Run & Endurance Nutrition Coach · NASM Strength & Nutrition Coach
I’m your Monterey Bay neighbor (but I work with women wherever they are), a mom of three boys, a marathon runner, and a lifelong athlete.
But more importantly, I’m the coach who helps you stop spinning your wheels.
I bring together run coaching, strength training, and nutrition so everything you’re doing actually works together, not against each other. My approach is rooted in science and behavior change, which means we’re not chasing trends or guessing what might work, we’re building a system that does.
No more random workouts. No more second guessing your nutrition. No more trying to piece together a plan from five different places.
Instead, we focus on what actually moves the needle
running with purpose, lifting to build strength and resilience, and fueling your body to support both performance and long-term health.
With personalized support, you’ll build habits that fit your life (not take it over) and develop the confidence, strength, and self trust that carries far beyond your training.
Let’s get to work.
My Coaching Journey
As a collegiate volleyball player, I remember being told I needed to “just gain weight” with no real guidance on how to do that in a way that actually supported strength, performance, or long-term health. What I didn’t understand then was how to intentionally fuel my body…how to eat in a way that supports a calorie surplus and pair it with resistance training to build real muscle. Not to change my body for someone else, but to become stronger for myself.
After my second baby, I felt off…low energy, bloated, and stuck with weight that wouldn’t shift. I was told it was “just postpartum,” but deep down I knew something wasn’t right. After experiencing multiple miscarriages, I was eventually diagnosed with Hashimoto’s and hypothyroidism.
Looking back, I wish I had known that my body wasn’t failing me, it was asking for support and understanding. Once I understood what was happening, everything started to make more sense.
Like a lot of women, I also found myself pulled into diet culture. I tried approaches like Whole30, thinking I was doing the “right” thing but I was under fueled, exhausted, and struggling to keep up with the training I loved.
What I needed wasn’t more restriction, it was understanding. Understanding my total energy needs, how to fuel performance, and how to balance macros in a way that supported both my training and my life.
At different points, I’ve been the athlete who felt misunderstood, the mom trying to find her way back, and the woman navigating changes in her body without clear answers.
That’s why I became a certified personal trainer, run coach, and nutrition coach…to bring clarity to movement and fueling in a way I wish I had earlier.
If any part of this feels familiar, I’m really glad you’re here.
